Heritage Open Days

Between September 11th and 13th Bungay will hold 3 events to support heritage open day initiative . All events are free
The 3 events are:
A hidden gem in the heart of Bungay – St Edmund’s Catholic Church  
Friday 11th and 12th September – 10am – 4pm 

Discover one of the largest baptisteries in England, a wonderful collection of stained glass and wood carving, displays of historical vestments and historic photos. Also visit the presbytery cloister and Italianate garden.
25-minute guided tour of the church at 2pm on Friday and 10am and 2pm on Saturday.

From Fleece to Fashion – Nurseys old factory 
Saturday 12th September – 10am – 4pm 

Probably the last time the old factory will be open to the public. On display will be images of famous people who wore the Nurseys sheepskin coat, the fashion houses who bought their products and a large collection of images and a video of people who used to work in the factory. There will be a working display of glove and slipper manufacturing using the same equipment and techniques as found in the 1900’s

3000 years of dressing the people. 
Riverside Centre 12th September and 13th September 10am – 3pm

Interactive live display showing 3000 years of working clothing. Come and dress as your ancestors
