Eating & Shopping
The secret ingredient to the perfect break is finding that wonderful restaurant, welcoming traditional pub or cosy café and Bungay has them all- everything from gourmet dishes to modest, nourishing food. There are veggie treats as well as a good range of restaurants offering International cuisine. Snuggling in a rich agricultural area means that much of the food utilises local produce.
A visit to Bungay isn’t just about eating though – it’s a mecca for real ale and craft beers with a large number of microbreweries producing delicious drought & bottled ales. Bungay is in one of the driest and sunniest regions of the UK which lends itself to winemaking and there are a number of vineyards in the area producing wines that rival the best.
And if it’s retail therapy you’re after, you’ve come to the right place! Unlike many Towns, Bungay, has many individual and specialist shops, some of which have been established for generations- selling tempting one-of-a-kind items There is also a wealth of antique & craft shops in which you can browse.
As well as its regular Thursday market – held in The Buttercross for more than 600 years, Earsham Street hosts three special street markets every year – in May a Garden Market, July an Antique Market and finally in December a Christmas Market.
We are always looking for businesses who want to bring their offering to a wider audience
